Okay you crier's out there. Go ahead and get out your tissues. (I cried editing and taking these photos). Ben contacted me a couple weeks ago with a wild idea (by wild I mean incredibly awesome). He was taking his girlfriend Kristen to the remote Sanderling Spa and Resort in Duck, NC where he planned to propose to her on the beach. He wanted the proposal photographed from a distance so that they could enjoy the moment for years to come. WOW. I was just so excited that he chose me as the photographer. The last time that I talked to Ben, he said everything was planned just right. He had even already asked Kristen's father for her hand.
So the day finally arrives, I drove the 5 hours to Duck, NC from Wilmington, NC. I arrived just in time to scout out the proposal location that Ben and I discussed via Google Maps. As I sat waiting for the plan to unfold, I spotted a pod of dolphins! I sat for a while shooting the dolphins jumping in the air, catching waves and socializing, and still no Kristen and Ben? Then, I realized they were sitting right in front of me on the beach! (Not part of the plan)
Apparently, Kristen had not wanted to leave the comfort of their resort room until she saw 'some girl photographer taking pictures of dolphins!'
I am so thankful she spotted me (still unknowing that it was me and I was there to take pics of her engagement), and that she decided to venture out to the beach with Ben to see the dolphins.
